Max

Ok... you can see Max. But, more importantly, can he see YOU? :P Behind all those curls is one of the best dogs ever to stay!

He's calm, happy, friendly and easy-going. An absolute dream to look after while he was here. We call him our woolly mammoth - hee hee :)

And in case you're wondering... Max is a Labradoodle!

Oops! That's too close of a close up!

Freddie

Say it with me slowly... Freddie is a Soft.Coated.Wheaten.Terrier. In short, one happy-people-loving-muzzle-drool-big-terrier!

Yup he LOVES his humans - good luck getting past him without getting lunged upon! A very playful boy and a curiosity for new things. Which pretty much is the whole house when he was staying with us :)

Flex

Well, what can i say? Flex would be the first official German Shepherd Dog (GSD) that we've had at MIBO! He's goofy, quite lazy at times and there is not a mean bone this puppy. YES, that is a 6 month old boy!

His movements are worse than his intentions... see the plants in the background? Knocked them off in one fell swoop! And he really just wants to play with the others... just that he's so big and clumsy, he ends up stepping on their tails, feet, tripping over them... and they all just avoid him. Poor baby.

Oh Flex, i hope you find your playmate soon... I'm sure it'll be a match made in doggyland!

Otto

I think when you name your dog Otto, you're in for a bundle of fun! The other Otto that we have is a Boxer and he's just as playful and easygoing as this Schnauzer puppy :)

So experience has told us that puppies don't stay very still for picture taking... hence these shots are taken on the kitchen... table! Well it helps that he's VERY food motivated... haha.

As you can see... easily distracted with the on goings in the kitchen (always an exciting place!)

"Can i get off the table and play now?"

Kimchi & QQ

Slightly overdue photos (cuz i forgot to take any!!!)... thanks to these boys' mummy for the pictures!

At first meeting, you immediately know who's the boss. That's Kimchi (foreground)! He was not a happy camper and didn't give in to your pleas and cajoling. QQ on the other hand, i think it took him all of 5 seconds to start exploring his surroundings and jumping all the way to the top of their condo!

"He ain't heavy... he's my brother :P"

Can my dog stay at MIBO if he/she is not neutered/spayed?

We get this question very often at MIBO and most often than not, the answer will be NO.

But we also have dogs that are not sterilised and we extend our services to these dogs with the following knowledge:
(applies to reservations made after 1 April 2010)
  • Unsterilised dogs destabilise the pack environment and are at a greater risk for injury by other dogs and to themselves as a result.
  • Un-neutered male dogs are prone to marking their territory (like the sofa, table legs, etc) and their urine has a highly unpleasant pungent odor. Their constant presence provokes challenges for 'top dog' status.
  • Un-spayed females can come into heat (even with "predictable" cycles) and their period brings unwanted attention/harassment from the males (even the neutered ones!) and dominance challenges from others.
At MIBO we fully agree with the following excerpt from Ceasar Milan - Spay & Neuter Myths. Please take some time to have a look at it.

If you are considering having your unsterilised dog stay with us, we would like to know the reasons why you have chosen not to sterilise him/her. Please note that we do not accept the following reasons:

  • for future litters (puppies)/as a stud or mate
  • that the dog will put on weight after sterilisation
  • that the dog will be less of a canine/change in temperament
  • you plan to have him sterilised soon. (Your dog will be welcome to stay once he/she has been sterilised.)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If your female is in heat/comes into heat during her stay, an additional charge of $15/day will apply from the start of boarding.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We give priority to dogs that are sterilised and there are limited places available to non-sterilised dogs. MIBO PDC reserves the right to accept or decline each dog on a case by case basis and the decision will be final.

We know that you'll understand that we strive to cater to all dogs and that these dogs need extra vigilance and require additional cleanup. This results in more man hours involved during their stay to keep everyone comfortable and environment pleasant.

Cookie

Oooolala... now THIS one is a Princess with a capital P! She has no need to be friends with you since you took her from the comfort of her castle... so you jolly well just tend to her needs and bow down whenever you approach her. In my case, with a foot long pole!

But kudos to her highness for maintaining her disposition and not giving in just for food or affection! All hail Cookie...

Milko & Cookie

And our cat boarding gets off to a start with these 2 brothers :)

This is Milko - most cats come in quite annoyed and upset and he is no different. It took him about 5days to show some affection to us. It's ok, we're patient and give cats LOTS of space and time to warm up to us :) After that, he was all nice and loving.

And this is Cookie, much more relaxed and settled in about 3 days. They both meow like little girls... or like birds... depending on what you hear :P So different and funny!

Elmo & Abby

What a rarity to have a brother and sister duo staying at the same time! These 2 beagles have personalities as different as night and day...

Elmo is the more outgoing big brother: he's in your face and super excited to meet and greet new people all the time. Can you tell he has the happy face all the time? :D

Looks like he's doing mental sums! Haha.

Yup - he definitely takes the lead and protects Abby; what a good brother!

Abby is more reserved and shy - it took her quite a while to warm up to her new surroundings. But as long as she has Elmo beside her, she seems to adapt better.

But she also has a very loving side: any one to volunteer for tummy rubs? :)

The Year of the Tiger brings... Dogs? :)

Well, I believe that some of them are capable of ROARING! Lucky for me most of them just bark, whine, yip and howl (??!!)

Here are some of the dogs that welcomed the Lunar New Year with us! :D

Summer: As simple as her name suggests :) She's a placid girl that sometimes doesn't really know what going on and just follows what the other are doing. We's ok with that as long as it's not some bad habit!
This is Summer's happy-go-lucky face: doesn't that make you smile too?

Somehow the world outside always looks better when you're inside!

Miss Hana - I think i can declare corgis are the all time funny breed! They simply are without even trying :P

Sora: This Papilion has been with us several times, so it's really nice to see a familiar face. She likes her crate and feels right at home in there :)

This is Sora's serious face - still so cute! :P

Buff-buff-Buffy!!! Awww... we absolutely LOVE this girl! Not a mean bone in her body and a joy to have around. She does try to be a shadow chaser when she's in the yard, but it's all in harmless fun :)

She asks for auto belly rubs all the time.. hee hee.

Pepo: another familiar face! I do think that he's so comfortable here, he's taken to calling it his home and telling the others what (he thinks) is right and wrong. We are honored that he's settled in so well!

Ody: Oddles of cuteness with this boy! He can be mischievous but he gets away with it with THAT expression. It's his first time with us, so we'll give him a chance *wink*

Doggy mummies and daddies, if your dog stayed with us and you don't see their picture posted up here, please email us with their photo! Not every dog is camera ready... sometimes even I'm not ready with camera in hand *blush*
