Daisy

IT'S DAISY VS THE (washing) MACHINE!

It's really quite captivating... machine spins, Daisy goes nuts. We're still trying to de-sensitise her to the revolving "monster". Which means, that when she come every week for daycare, that becomes the designated laundry day :P

The bichon-poodle girl has a cheeky smile all to her own. And she squeals too. Sometimes i can't tell if it's in delight or fustration that no one can understand her!

MIBO @ HV

(Updated: 23 Nov 2009) Here's where your dog will be spending many happy days!

Here are our new shots of MIBO's House at HV. You are always welcome to view our place with your pet and i'm sure you'll be pleased.

Yard – It’s a humble place… a place to catch some sunshine, sniff the plants, and most importantly, answer nature’s call. We try to keep the grass free from pee-burns, but dogs will do what they have to do!

Driveway – Welcome! Come on in... Don't let her size scare you, it's just Phoebe (left): She’s a permanent feature, does bark alot and might want to jump on you... but if you give her a chance, she'll show you her (smelly) raccoon toy! She loves dogs of all shapes and sizes and gets along well with all of them :D

Patio - Here is where we will meet you and your dog to get to know them better. That is my other dog, Lady. She's shy and a little nervous... usually she hides when there are new people around. She's just looking for a cuddle and some lovin' :)

Living Room - Chill out zone! This area a good place to catch a breeze and watch the world outside pass on by... This is where the dogs will spend most of their day. They are free to romp around with the other dogs, play with the tons of toys we have here and have a super day!

Or there is always television! :P Yes the sofas are all for the dogs... spoiling them keeps them (and MIBO) happy :)

Kitchen - We would like to think that the dogs are highly intellectual and amuse themselves with a daily read of the papers.... but we know better :P They are here for...

THE FOOD! It's the best place to be! You never know what's going to fall off the counter :) It’s like heaven to some (ok, most) dogs. This is where we prepare their daily meals. It’s stocked full of food, treats and yummy extras.

See where we are located and come see for yourself.

MIBO's Going Green

In our efforts to help in conserve our environment we are adopting the following approaches:
  • Your plastic bags that are used to contain your dog's belongings will be used to line the waste bin. We will return you reusable paper bags.
  • Food that is provided in it's original packaging or plastic baggies (both not advisable) will be measured out for your dog's stay and unused portions will be store in it's original packaging sealed tight with rubber bands. We will only use the measured out portions, according to your feeding instructions. If the food in it's original packaging spoils, or gets infested, we will not be held responsible. You are highly recommended store your dog's food in labelled (rodent-proof) containers... ice cream tubs and old take away containers are some examples.
  • We prefer to use the wall fans and not the airconditioning where possible (that's about 99.5% of the time).
  • The lights are off unless there are people in the room or visitors. And we use energy saving bulbs too! That's why viewings are by appointment only... if not, the place always looks closed :)
  • We drive out as little as possible. So outings, walks, swims, transportation and running of errands are planned in advance to minimise lag time in between.
  • Newspapers are used to pick up poo and designated potty areas. We do not use pee (wee wee) pads.
  • We use Durapet and WetNoz stainless steel bowls for feeding. They are indestructible and have a long life span.
  • We reuse envelopes... so, where necessary, you will get your invoices and change in them (and know who we pay our bills to!)
  • We use charmois towels to dry the dogs after showers. This minimises any blowdrying... in fact, we air dry the dogs.
  • The rain helps to wash our backyard. But when it's high and dry, we reuse the water after we have mopped the floors.
  • We welcome donations of old toys (dog type or otherwise), beds, containers (glass and plastic), food, vitamins, supplements, etc. If your dog does not want or need it, we can put it to good use.

Your understanding and support to save our Earth is greatly appreciated!

We feel that this will give your dogs (and mine) a brighter future... and that is a great reason to wag your tails!

Titus

Catching the rays at the back yard... looks so heavenly :)

Classic Titus: BIG sloppy grin! :D

What a lucky fellow... Titus was from the SPCA and given a second chance at life with a dedicated and loving owner. Sure, there are some issues, but we are slowly working them out.

Enjoying a day at the park

He's loud, loopy, bouncy and full of love... like all Boxers are. Oh and he can talk... if you can decode "wow wow owwww owow ooo" Let me know ya? He plays hard with Phoebe and they make great pals together.

Slurp slurp slurp...

Whiskey

Oh dear... if there was a dog that is of the non-moving variety, it's Whiskey.

You can vacuum and mop around him and he just stay right where he is. That is actually ok to deal with. But his favorite spot to plonk down is... doorways! Any one of them will do. So everything we need to go in or out or any room, we literally have to climb over him. And this applies to humans and the dogs.

He doesn't mind at all. This gentleman's a real sweetie - not once did he bark.
Probably saving his strength for more sleep :)

Toby's Crossing

With heavy hearts and a low hanging tail, we say goodbye to Toby...

We will forever remember this girl as an independent spirit - always wanting to do things her way. We'll miss your antics and sparkling character.

A Typical Day at MIBO

What do the dogs do all day??

8:00am to 9:30amDogs for DayCare arrive (more friends!) and introductions are made. Belongings are placed in the locker. Dogs that require breakfast are fed and others are taken out to the yard to potty (Potty breaks occur throughout the day!). After meals, dogs that have been fed will be kept away for 30mins so that their tum-tums don’t get upset. Playtime is almost here!

9.30am to 12.00pm
Morning activities include: ball-fetching, wrestling (a favorite activity!), sniffing and investigations, running, climbing, etc.

12:00 to 4:00pm
Nap Time: Yup, they do take a break from their fun filled day! Time for all to wind down with small snacks (owner approved) and a drink. They rest with soft music, a light breeze and lavender aromatherapy. Just like children, this is an important quiet time for them to unwind, relax and recharge. After their well-deserved rest, they get individual attention for each dog.

4:00 to 5:00pm
A trip to the nearby open field or park with lots of space to run and let of steam for the ones that need it most! Located a short stroll from the house, we take 2 to 3 dogs at a time so that we can ensure their safety while they head for some outdoor fun (see pictures of field trips here)

5:00 to 7:00pm
Clean up: All dogs get wipe down after the whole day of play, fun and friends. Dogs that require a quick shower will get one at this time. Dogs will then get a rest period before getting picked up (DayCare) or their dinner. A quick stroll outdoor before lights out ensures a peaceful night ahead.

7:00 to 8:00pm
Goodnight! Dogs end the day with a rawhide chew stick and get tucked into bed within designated areas.

It's a dog's life... :)

Visitors also pop by during the day, so they get to say hi and mingle with other humans. We on the other hand spend the day cleaning... monitoring... cleaning... feeding... cleaning... cuddling... cleaning... and... well you get the picture :P

We've Moved!

Into a bigger better space :)

Dogs get the run of the whole first floor - that's all 1200sqft of space for them. And yes we still live here so home boarding applies.

We are now located at Race Course Road. Pictures will be up soon.
Oh, and we are fully booked for Christmas 2007.
Bookings for Chinese New Year 2008 open in November.
