Treatment of Tick Fever is a combination of supportive measures and medication to kill the blood parasites, but the treatment is not guaranteed to work and dogs may die due to the disease.

Tick prevention is vital in all dogs, wherever you live. Applications of Frontline and/or Amitraz tick collars are essential, but nothing is 100% effective. Monthly spot on treatments are sufficient in the off peak (cooler) months, but fortnightly applications may be required in the summer if you live and walk your dogs in areas of grass or other foliage where immature ticks live.
Note: Revolution is NOT effective against ticks

Our dog tested positive for tick fever recently but she is showing no signs of going "off colour". We will be carrying out tests on our other dogs over time. Please know that we do take in dogs that have been treated for tick fever. They are healthy and normal just like any other dog. If you have concerns regarding future boardings, do let us know.
