Miley

My-leeee... ok, maybe not quite like that. But that will get her attention nonetheless! She'a one very happy, very quiet Schnauzer :) And her behaviour is quite like my sister's dog, Bubbles. Sometimes, we call out the wrong name... but Miley will still come :P That's how easygoing she is!

There are so many more things to do besides pose!

Jiang-Gu

Left profile. Right profile. Either way, Jiang-gu looks great to us. A senior (love em'!) Shih Tzu, he can't see well out of both eyes and tends to wander aimlessly. But once he knows the layout of the house - you can't keep him in one area... even if it's for his own good! He wants out/in and will bark for your attention. Other dogs don't faze him at all... They are just objects to move around :D He makes us laugh!

Ziggy in the Field

Ahhh... nothing like a HOT day out in the afternoon. The fields were still a little gross from the rain a couple of days ago, but that will not stop the enthusiasm of Ziggy!

 He loves checking out the grassy area and will stare off into the bushes... Maybe there's something there that we just can't see! Squirrel perhaps? :D 

So here's the funniest thing that happened: Ziggy can't cross the drain... you can see him WANT to cross. And he TRIES to cross it, but will end up looking forlornly to the other side. "So close yet so far!" 

 

So he gets a little guidance in the form of Phoebe...
"look, THIS is how you do it... just step down and JUMP!"

"Easy for you to say... you've got long legs!"

But yes, Ziggy did make it over :P

Wags & Patch

Am grinning all over again with these 2 playful characters :) They love plying with each other... but they will gamely take on any new playmates too!

 This is patch - the joker of the 2. He was the one that found a way up the stairs (by the sides) even though I swear that I blocked it off already. Then he will happily sit on the stairs... then realises that he's actually alone there... *whine whine*

There's always time for a wrestle!

 

 This is a great mugshot of Wags :) She's very social and loves her little brother. If you keep them apart (like one in the shower and the other is not) she will be barking/whining for her buddy :) Awwww!

Pup

This is how you confuse us: by naming your kitten, Puppy. Or Pup for short :D Pup is a very pretty little gal, but boy did she have a mean streak in the beginning! Thankfully she was taken care of the full time babysitters: Borat & Mambo

Mostly it was Borat that didn't mind her much, but he would also tell her off when things got out of hand, when she hissed, growled, bit or clawed. Mambo? He would play with her on his own terms - or walked away when it all got too rough for him. 

After several days of "negotiation" and also finding out that she really isn't this naughty back home, we laid down the rules and she was playing nice soon enough! Phew ;)

Don't I look like Puss-In-Boots?

Meow Meow

Sometimes you expect the worst - and get thrown a curve ball and get the nicest cat! Meow has a history of fits and had to be confined at all times. Needless to say, she was grouchy (but we've seem worse!) In the end, she was so friendly, we just had to let her out to explore. 

As you can see, she had no problems being outside at all and didn't even mind our cats moving around her. Sweet girl!

JRTs of the same kind :)

Baby! (or Bah-Beeee as I like to call him)

He's the smallest lil' JRT but such a cutie :) He's grown up to be a good boy so far. His best bud is a Basset Hound - you can't get any different from that!

And Cookie here is the regular JRT gal that usually has the title for the smallest dog in the bunch - but when you get 2 similar sized dogs...

... they typically become great friends and they really can play hard! Here's Cookie and Baby looking like they don't care much for each other; but we know better! They love each other! :D

Whisker

Most of the time we get cats that don't like strangers. Whisker is great with new people, she just doesn't like other cats too much.

She won't actively play with them, she just likes to mind her own business, thank you very much.

But as you can see, she's a very curious girl and is game just exploring around the place.

This is by far her favourite activity and Whisker can spend hours looking at the world outside. Birds, cars, trees, people... there's just so many things to keep her entertained!

In a Perfect (Feline) World...

Some days, every thing is good! This is one of the rare moments that ALL the cats staying here get along with every one else. It's constantly reassuring them and making them feel secure and safe, so that they come out and relax with the others.

Thank you to all the cats for showing that it is possible: Snowy (white), Whisker (cat looking out window), Pebbles (trying to catch Whisker's tail) and of course our resident cats: Mambo and Baron - for being great hosts!
